Barossa German Language School : An Invitation
Barossa German Language School: An Invitation
A community meeting will be held on Tuesday the 10th of February at 7.00 pm in the Langmeil Lutheran Church Centre to discuss establishing a German Language School in the Barossa. This is a proposal from the large number of participants attending the final Barossa German Language Documentation and Revival Project gathering in November.
The idea is to set up a branch of the Adelaide German Language School making a German language program available locally. Parents who currently drive to Adelaide for lessons have requested a local school. The Chairman of the Adelaide School will explain the procedure for establishing the program. Dr Peter Mickan from the University of Adelaide will talk about a program for children and a program for adults. This is an open invitation for interested community members to plan maintaining and reviving German as part of our regional heritage.
