DESCRIPTION:It’s February again and that means it’s nearly time for:\nKARNEVAL / FASCHING / FASNACHT! \nEvery German knows that’s the time of year to get dressed up\, join the fun\, and eat\nlots of Berliner/Krapfen – or to quickly book a holiday and get out of the country! \nWe have decided to embrace Fasching at German School and will celebrate with\nyour children on Saturday 21 February. Children can come to school dressed up in\ntheir favourite costume (if they wish). We will have Berliner and Brezeln for sale\, too. \nLessons will finish at 11 am and the students are then invited to join the cultural\ncelebration. Parents are also welcome to join us from that time. The school day will\nend at 11:45 am for all students (including Communicators and Sentence Builders). \nWe’re looking forward to some amazing costumes! \nUntil then\, Alaaf and Helau!

SUMMARY:Goethe Fit in Deutsch A1 Exam 2025
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted that the German School is offering the internationally recognised Goethe Fit in Deutsch A1 exam for the very first time. \nTo ensure your child is well-prepared\, we have scheduled a series of preparation activities both in and outside the classroom. We strongly encourage all students to attend classes regularly in the lead-up to the exam. \nThe exam will be facilitated by Goethe examiners. While the exam itself takes about 60 minutes\, the oral component is conducted in groups of 3–4 students\, which may involve some waiting time. All students will be supervised by staff of the German school. \nThe exam fee is $199.00\, payable directly to the Goethe-Institut via the registration link below. As the exam is scheduled on a Saturday\, there are no additional costs for supervision\, which will be provided by the German School \nRegister for the SAGTA Workshop 01.11.25: Please\, choose the complementary option. The link momentarily only mentions Pembroke School as an exam school but SAGTA is rectifying this issue. DESCRIPTION:On the 27th of September will be Family Fun Day!\nThis year things will be different from the last years\, the day will begin as a normal school day meaning you will drop your child(ren) off in the morning and then at 10:30am in the school courtyard the event will run until 12:30pm!\nIf you are willing to volunteer with set up\, you may stay for the hour and a half between the event and the normal school morning.\n\nAs is tradition we will have a  cake stall and are asking for donations. This is your chance to show off your favourite family recipe! It doesn’t have to be cake\, cookies and cupcakes/muffins are also great!\nPlease let us know with a quick email via gspfcommittee@gmail.com if you would like to donate something. Please list the ingredients of your food and ensure they are nut-free.\n The classes have prepared a variety of fun activities like crafting and even a lemonade stand! You and your child will get a great opportunity to meet some of our other teachers and meet other parents in the community!\nAs parents or caretakers\, please be aware that you are responsible for your child(ren) during these events. \n\nWe are also going to run a  raffle  with some lovely fun prizes including some things like handmade soap\, custom ice block holders\, candles and some other cool things! Raffle tickets will be sold for $2. \nWe will also have books available for a gold coin donation!
